Our Story 

At Vivid Musica, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to play a quality instrument without paying excessive prices. Our mission is simple: to make high-quality string instruments accessible to musicians of all levels by offering exceptional value and fair pricing;  often up to 40% lower than comparable retailers. 

Founded in 2014 and based in the Netherlands, Vivid Musica was built on a genuine passion for violins and craftsmanship. 

The story began when Koen started learning the violin at the age of fifteen. When his instrument required maintenance, he decided to take on the challenge himself rather than bringing it to a repair shop. Through extensive research, study, and hands-on practice, he successfully restored the instrument. 

What started as curiosity soon developed into a lifelong passion. Recognizing his enthusiasm and dedication, his mother enrolled him in several repair courses taught by an experienced violin maker. Under expert guidance, Koen learned the techniques and craftsmanship involved in the restoration, maintenance, and repair of string instruments. 

Over the years, that passion grew into a business serving musicians around the world. Today, customers from across Europe, North America, Asia, and beyond trust Vivid Musica for carefully selected and professionally restored instruments that combine quality, reliability, and affordability. 

More than a decade later, Koen continues to dedicate himself to the restoration and refurbishment of violins and other string instruments while remaining an active violinist himself. This combination of practical experience, craftsmanship, and a musician’s perspective remains at the heart of everything Vivid Musica does.
